Consrvatories

In the golden era of building conservatories in the UK, they were the product of English love of gardening combined with some new solutions in glass and heating technology. Modern sunrooms are also built using the latest technologies such as Pilkington K Glass (for solar gain effect), polycarbonate (for impact resistance) or even self-cleaning windows.

Conservatories

We are pleased to help you to choose the type of conservatory which will let you enjoy them all year round view of the garden and increase your living space.

Solid foundations, insulated floor and walls, double-glazed windows and reinforced steel structure makes our conservatories safe, quiet and easy to warm even in winter.

In addition, a wide selection of framework finishes allows you to build a conservatory, whose appearance will be tailored to your individual requirements and tastes, from traditional designs to modern projects.

The leading solution

Known as low emissivity coated glass, which is easily processed and installed, Pilkington K Glass became a leading solution in thermal insulation for houses, public places and commercial spaces across the UK. Pilkington K Glass is used most commonly as the inner windowpane of an IGU (Insulating Glass Unit), just like in the newest Pilkington energiKare.

This solution is different than usual double-glazings as it works in two ways. It allows more heat and energy from the sun in through the glass and reduces the amount of heat that is lost through your windows. This positive effect is called solar gain and you will benefit from it all year round for free.

Pilkington K Glass helps windows to comply with energy saving Building Regulations.

High resistance to impact

Polycarbonate pane is up to 200 times more impact resistant than an ordinary glass window. This gives you an excellent protection against hail, vandals and accidental damage.

The material provides an adequate optical clarity thanks to its high light transmission level which excess 68%. Also, it is possible to use darkened glass to reduce heat build-up.

Polycarbonate belongs to the self-extinguishing materials that do not stoke flames in case of fire.

This material also has a high strength-to-weight ratio which makes support structures lightweight and inexpensive, while providing a high level of insulation thanks to Corotherm.

Glass cleaned by forces of nature

After many years of research, Pilkington, a leading glass manufacturer, has launched a range of products called Pilkington Activ. It was the begginning of self-cleaning glass era, which remained a dream just a few years ago.

Pilkington Activ products combine the function of self-cleaning with excellent solar control, which makes them very desirable among customers looking for the best solutions for their homes.

How does the self-cleaning glass work? Pilkington Activ uses the forces of nature in a two-way proces. At first, it uses sunlight to break down the dirt which sticks to the glass surface. Its remains are then simply removed by raindrops. This mechanism does not require any assistance and is environmentally friendly.

Pilkington Activ products can be easily combined with other products provided by Pilkington and other manufacturers.
